The 2023 Nissan Rogue and the 2023 Mazda CX-5 are excellent midsize crossovers. Both are designed with safety and comfort in mind, but there are some differences, so take a look at how they compare.


Trims and Size

The 2023 Nissan Rogue has five trims: S, SV, Midnight Edition, SL, and Platinum. It measures 183 inches long and 66.5 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 106.5 inches and an 8.2-inch ground clearance.


There are eight trims for the 2023 Mazda CX-5: S, S Select, S Preferred, S Carbon Edition, S Premium, S Premium Plus, Turbo, and Turbo Signature. It measures 180.1 inches long, 65.4 inches tall, has a 106.2-inch wheelbase, and has a 7.6-inch ground clearance. In short, the Nissan keeps it less complicated, while also being slightly larger.



Performance

The Rogue has a 1.5-liter VC-turbo engine with 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. The CX-5 sports a 2.5-liter inline-four engine that generates 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque for most trims.


When taking off, the Rogue employs Nissan's Intelligent All-Wheel Drive for extra traction and then rapidly switches to two-wheel drive at the right time. Five drive modes are available: Auto, Eco, Snow, Off-Road, and Sport. While the CX-5 also offers AWD, it only has Normal, Sport, and Off-Road modes.

Interior Volume

The 2023 Rogue offers a similar passenger volume to the CX-5 while adding a little extra cargo volume. You'll get 36.5 cubic feet on the Nissan, while Mazda's model has 30.8 cubic feet.
