Stretching along the eastern banks of the Scioto River and connecting a series of parks in the heart of the Columbus city center, Scioto Mile Promenade features a multi-use trail shared by runners, cyclists, and pedestrians. Offering beautiful views of the city, this promenade was inaugurated in 2011 and is managed by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. Some of the most beautiful views can be found at The Prow, an observation platform located at the south end of the park.

3. Buckeye Lake State Park

Offering great views of Buckeye Lake and providing great opportunities to have a picnic with your friends, Buckeye Lake State Park is another fantastic spot you can visit as part of a day trip. Located at 2905 Leibs Island Road in the town of Millersport and about 12 miles southwest of downtown Heath, this state park can be reached in less than 20 minutes by car via route OH-79. Popular activities include boating, swimming, fishing, and wildlife watching.
