3. Tee Jaye’s Country Place

This regional chain, family-owned and operated since 1970, is known for its hearty homestyle meals. The huge menu features traditional Midwest options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with seasonal soup and dessert options, salads, sandwiches, and much more.

Tee Jaye’s even has a separate senior menu, so it’s the perfect place to take the grandparents for a birthday or special occasion. It’s located at 1195 North 21st Street in Newark. Tee Jaye’s is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, except from 11 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday. Veterans receive a 10% discount.

4. Elliot’s Wood Fired Kitchen and Tap

A family-owned local restaurant, Elliot’s prides itself on its diverse menu. You’ll be sure to find options that everyone in your family will enjoy, whether you go for the spicy street tacos or share a signature wood-fired pizza. Elliot’s is at 16 West Main Street in Newark, and it’s open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
